Bowling Swing Bridge

Alex Hynes presenting an NRHA plaque to Scottish Canals for the restoration of 'Bowline viaduct' as a new cycleway in Bowling. [This is not a single structure, but a series of former railway bridges encompassing (from the east) railway arches, a swing bridge over the Forth and Clyde Canal (fixed), further arches, a bridge over a minor road, a span over the open railway from Glasgow to Dumbarton and a bridge over the A814. The bridges, having been closed to pedestrians in the 1990s, have been restored and carry a foot/cycle path. -RS]
