Camps Viaduct

Now forming one of the highlights of a walk through Almondell and Calderwood Country Park in West Lothian, Camps Viaduct once carried a mineral line across the valley of the River Almond. The 75 feet tall 9-span structure closed to rail traffic in 1959 and was subsequently incorporated into a new public walking route through the park which opened during the 1970s. The photograph shows the northern approach to the viaduct in September 2010.
