Weka Pass
Slowing down following a runpast for passengers, the quality of the restoration of 1966 built locomotive number Di 1102 is readily apparent. Operating on the Weka Pass Railway the locomotive is also passed for operation over the NZ main line network. Note the open-sided carriage to allow passengers of a certain persuasion to enjoy the sound of the English Electric engine as the loco climbs the 1:60 gradient over the 13km to Waikari.
