Sheriffhall City Bypass Overbridge

Looking north from Kings Gate on 12 September 2013 towards the Edinburgh City Bypass. This is where the former Waverley Route once curved north east towards Millerhill. The new formation being built to carry the Borders Railway continues north before rejoing the Waverley alignment some 2 miles away at what is now Newcraighall North Junction. Activity is paused at present pending closure of this section of the bypass, with diversion of traffic onto a temporary route (scheduled to take place the following week) thus enabling work to start on the bridge which will carry the road over the new railway.
