A major event in Glasgow in 1982 was the visit of Pope John Paul II to an open air mass in Bellahouston Park. To cope with the anticipated numbers of participants a programme of special trains was organised from various parts of Scotland and these ran to Corkerhill returning in the evening of what was a very warm day. The ECS for one of these return workings arrives as the rear vehicles of the previous departure can be seen in the distance. The number of totems visible is impressive, but they must have been coming up to their 'best before' date.
