Cranley Gardens

The west side parapet of Muswell Hill Road bridge over the trackbed of the old GNR Finsbury Park to Alexandra Palace line, with the railings marking the site of the entrance building to the former Cranley Gardens station, on the afternoon of Saturday, 4th November 2023. The line closed in the 1950s after almost becoming part of the LU Northern Line. Cranley Gardens station, entirely of wood, fell into an advanced state of dereliction very quickly but the ruins (that I remember as a boy) remained until the early 1970s when they were demolished with a block of flats built on the site and which have only recently been demolished. The site of the former northbound platform is in the background behind the railings on the left.
