Carnforth

Having arrived at Carnforth on 9 May 1970 behind English Electric Type 4 No D353 as part of the Scottish Grand Tour Number 10, there was time to wander round the shed area. One of the locos on show was Black 5 No 44871, which is still in business heading railtours more than fifty years later! This tour was notable in that it was the last train to leave from the mainline platform at Carnforth. See image 36161.
