Bootle Balliol Road
507013, on Southport line duties, passes over the top of Alexandra Dock Tunnel, in front of which is the site of Bootle Balliol Road, one of seven intermediate stations on the Alexandra Dock branch. At one time the branch had a frequent service between the dock and Lime Street but it closed to passengers in 1948. It remains busy with container and biomass traffic however.
