Boar's Head

331018 passes Boar's Head working from Blackpool North to Lime Street on 10th January 2024. The station had two platforms on the main line and two on the line to Adlington, which forked sharp right by the front of the EMU. The station closed on 31st January 1949 but an elevated signal box continued in service until the main line was electrified in the early 1970s. The Adlington line closed to passengers in 1960 and the last freight traversed it on 5th October 1971.
