Lindsay Colliery Pits Nos 4 and 5

A little south west of Lindsay Colliery the mineral railway crossed over the tram line to Kelty. An underpass beneath the railway was built for the Kelty tram extension of 1910, with the railway being placed on a short bridge over the electric tramway. The trams followed the Great North Road out of Cowdenbeath before crossing a field to reach Oakfield Street and the terminus in Kelty. In this view the railway ran from bottom centre to the distant road, from which it curved off to the more distant right. The tramline ran from Great North Road off to the left to pass under the railway immediately to the left of the trees and then follow the treeline to the Oakfield Street on the right which it followed into Kelty (off to right).
