Rossall School [Tram]

The curve of the tram line away from the road at Rossall School is a distinctive sight but that section only dates from 1925 when it was laid to bypass a very sharp bend, illustrated on this map from the 1930s. The low embankment of the original route survives today in the grounds of Rossall School, visible from the road. Apparently, when trams negotiated the old line in windy weather it was common for trolley poles to be blown off the overhead wire.
