Sandhills

Merseyrail's Class 507 EMUs continue to be scrapped as the fleet runs down and at the beginning of May 2024 there are just nine sets remaining. Barring failures of the new 777 units, which is sadly not uncommon, the survivors are operating three diagrams on weekdays between Southport and Hunts Cross. 507010, paired with 507029, rolls into Sandhills heading for Southport on 8th May. The train is passing the turnback siding, used by stock from Kirkdale Depot to access the Southport line without going into Liverpool (and vice versa).
