Wetheral

A dull December day in 2004 sees a GNER HST, diverted via Carlisle, on its way from Newcastle to Edinburgh passing through Wetheral station. This closed to passengers on 2nd January 1967 but reopened on 5th October 1981. On the left of the viaduct, the cast iron footpath which was added to the structure in 1851 can be seen.
