The footpath from Gleneagles station to Auchterarder, or Gleneagles Hotel, involves taking your life in your own hands - crossing the A9. There's a short section of the path in the middle between the two carriageways. This is the view looking north east to where the Crieff branch originally crossed the road on the level. It was replaced when a new alignment opened with the present Gleneagles station. The new alignment crossed over by a bridge a little further north east. Gleneagles station is off to the right and this is where, until recent years, the road access came off the A9. During major golfing tournaments a footbridge has been erected over the A9.
