Ratho

A shot thought to date from 1973 of Ratho station looking east. The station closed to passengers on 18/06/1951 and at the far end of the various remaining buildings is the former signal box which, as far as I can ascertain, was downgraded to a ground frame in 1939. The train is an Edinburgh - Glasgow QS push/pull working with a class 27 locomotive at each end which were introduced to the route from 1971.
