Lydgate Viaduct

195122, working Blackpool North to York, slowly rounds the curve on the approach to Lydgate Viaduct as it drops down from Copy Pit towards Hall Royd Junction on 12th October 2024. These speed restricted curves make the climb to Copy Pit even more of a challenge when steam excursions run this way. This view taken from the bridge carrying Knots Road, which appears to be a temporary steel structure but has been in place for many years.
