Dagenham Heathway

View west from a train of LU S7 stock on District Line service from Upminster to Richmond, calling at Dagenham Heathway at 14.32 on Tuesday, 5th November 2024. This station was opened as Heathway by the LMSR in 1932 for the exclusive use of District Line trains on the quadrupled section of the ex-LTSR between Barking and Upminster and renamed Dagenham Heathway in 1949. Main line trains never called here but the line and station remained in main line ownership into BR Eastern Region days until 1969 when it was transferred to London Transport with running-in boards and totem signs replaced by LT roundels.
