Footplate view of Stanier Black 5 4-6-0 no. 44871 (1945) at Folkestone West during a water stop, at 15.17 on Monday, 11th November 2024. I was walking past after taking some photos of the Armistice Day railtour when the driver tapped me on the shoulder and invited me on board, I didn't ask and I've no idea why he chose me. Getting into the locomotive at my age was one thing, it was quite another when I had to get down afterwards - backwards.
