Yorkhill Quay

In September 1977, her final month of service, TS ‘Queen Mary’ passes Yorkhill on her way downriver from Bridge Wharf. The ‘II’ in her previous ‘Queen Mary II’ name, added as a courtesy to Cunard in 1935 before their celebrated RMS ‘Queen Mary’ entered service, was dropped at the start of the 1976 season, following the removal of the retired Cunarder from Lloyd’s Register.
