Ashington

The disused platforms at Ashington station, closed in 1964, looking north from the new platform for the reopened Northumberland Line, at 12.31 on the First Day of the restored service, Sunday, 15th December 2024. A visit by bus from Morpeth to Ashington and its old station on 15th June 2018 revealed the disused platforms still in place but minus all buildings. (For photos of the station as it was back then, see my images nos. 75652, 75575 and 75665.)
