Trent Junction

The complex of junctions at Trent were very busy for freight at one time. However one could not cover all angles so was bound to miss trains when trying to photograph them. Most freight came to or from via Toton yard and took the Castle Donington route. Here we see 31186 and 31431 with a Immingham Lindsey block oil service heading for Albion near Dudley in January 1986. The vast majority of oil depots are now closed but back then there were many rail served. The 31s are taking the Castle Donington route .
