Goodbye Tynehead. A shot beyond the capabilities of my basic camera but a memory of the day on Friday 3rd January 1969, with D5070 calling with the 16.12 Edinburgh - Hawick. The oil lamps on the up platform are lit for the last time as the station was served by one train each way Monday - Friday only. In the gloom a few other people can be seen on the platform to say farewell as did I and a friend who had travelled on the train from Edinburgh. This was followed by a bracing walk to Pathhead for a bus to Dalkeith.
