Okehampton
A wintry but bright first day of 1971 sees a single unit railcar about to depart Okehampton for Exeter. By this time the line beyond Okehampton was closed other than for stone traffic from Meldon Quarry and the branch itself would loose its passenger service as from 5th June 1972. Over the next few decades there were a few attempts to introduce seasonal services but eventually in November 2021 the line reopened as part of the National Network.
