Newchurch No 1 Tunnels
At the Waterfoot end of The Glen are these two tunnel portals. On the left is Newchurch No.1 Tunnel and on the right Thrutch Tunnel. On my last visit in 2009 (See 23833) these tunnels were both bricked up and inaccessible but in 2019 Newchurch Tunnels 1 and 2 were opened up and incorporated into a cycle route, accessed by this new bridge over the river.
