Exterior of Stepney Green, LU District and Hammersmith & City Lines, in glorious winter sunshine but bitterly cold, at 12.56, on Tuesday, 14th January 2025. This station was opened by the Whitechapel & Bow Railway on 2nd June 1902 and worked by the Metropolitan District Railway which formed an extension of their line from Whitechapel to a connection with the LT&SR's line west of Bromley station (now Bromley-by-Bow). It was the nucleus of the District's extension all the way to Upminster in Essex.
