Westcraigs Junction

When this shot was taken in early 1980, Westcraigs Junction signal box was closed and work to single the line between Bathgate and Airdrie was underway although this proved to be a short term measure as total closure as far as Springbank siding at Plains took place in February 1982. The trackbed heading off left behind the box ran via Shotts NB to join the line from Bathgate to Morningside and closed in stages in the 50s and early 60s.
