A shot, thought to date from 1970, of Wooler station looking south. Passenger services ended in 1930 but goods traffic continued to be handled until 1965, served from the Coldstream end of the line. By 1970 the platforms had been infilled, and a fair section of the wooden porch which graced the front of the building had been removed, but otherwise it was in fair order and still remained so as a private residence on my last visit some years ago. I think my first car, an Austin Mini, has managed to get into the photograph.
