In a shot thought to date from 1972, a BR Class 24 diesel and brake van return empty handed from Bedlay Colliery. Although smoke can be seen coming from the NCB pug at the colliery I think it was unable to function that day so there was no traffic to uplift and I presume the 24 had been sent up to the pit to check as usually the traffic was taken to the exchange sidings by the NCB locomotive.
