Bacup

Very few pieces of railway infrastructure still exist in Bacup, with even trackbed formations built over. This small bridge over a public footpath is an exception. It was on the Rochdale line, a short distance from where it diverged from the Rawtenstall line immediately outside Bacup station. It saw its last rail movements when Bacup Shed closed in 1954 and is isolated now as there is no trace of the railway on either side of it.
