Loughborough

Looking northwards at Loughborough, from where the embankment was moved across the Midland Main Line to allow easier access to the Ruddington line. The original and future paths of the GC can be seen. The abutment on the left was the north side of a farm track accommodation bridge. That track was upgraded into Railway Terrace, now leading to a waste recycling facility, which means the GCR must allow 5.3m clearance for bin lorries. The new bridge over the MML is on the right, slightly SE of the original trackbed.
