On 27th August 1966 the Railway Society of Scotland organised the 'J36 Rail Tour' which started at Corstorphine and visited various lines and connections in the Edinburgh area. Motive power was 65345 with 4 Mk 1s and it was a most enjoyable outing.
Among the places visited was Musselburgh and in this shot the train is just about to enter the station which had closed in 1964. The lines to the left ( Boglehole Siding ) served the coal depot and remained in use until 09/1971 when the branch closed completely.
