Esslemont
This 2025 view, along the lane leading to Esslemont station, illustrates the remote nature of the site and perhaps why it closed in 1952, thirteen years before passenger services from Fraserburgh to Aberdeen finished. The line itself ran in the cutting to the left of the picture, and after the last goods train in 1979 it was converted to a cycleway.
