Bromborough, looking across from the surviving northbound platform of the one-time four-platform layout, on 30th April 2025. Only two platforms survive along with this original building and the stairwells and covered footbridge to and from the ticket office. Passengers using this cross the abandoned trackbed once used by the Paddington to Birkenhead Woodside service until March 1967, robbing Birkenhead of its direct London trains. DMUs from Chester and Ellesmere Port continued to use the tracks, cut back from Woodside to Rock Ferry in November 1967, until September 1985 when electrification was extended from Rock Ferry to Hooton.
