Clacton-on-Sea

Exterior of Clacton-on-Sea station, seen from passing coach outing from north London to the Essex seaside town, at 11.41 on Tuesday, 15th July 2025. This station was opened by the Great Eastern Railway on 4th July 1882 as Clacton, the terminus of a spur from Thorpe-le-Soken on the Walton-on-Naze line of 1867. Today, Clacton is referred to as the main line with the Walton line a branch on which passengers have to change at Thorpe-le-Soken. This station was renamed Clacton-on-Sea on 20th May 2007.
