Skipton
Rail Charter Services ran the Staycation Express for those tourists nervous of venturing abroad in 2020 (diesel locomotive haulage) and 2021 (refurbished short HST set). The leather seats and other retrimming were very nice, and we crossed 4 freights between Skipton and Carlisle; but AFAIK the service has not been repeated. My judgement was that it was somehow less than the sum of its parts. The distinctively liveried HST set pulls into Skipton with the 11.30 to Carlisle on 29th July 2021.
