Lancaster: Most of the Avanti Voyagers are still in Virgin red and silver but 221101, which briefly carried a revised Virgin scheme, has been completely deliveried. It is seen here, with a class mate, crossing the Acre Moss Lane bridge as it departs from Lancaster heading south on 31st August 2020.
Delny: View south towards Inverness from the former Delny station level crossing in 1998.
Chilwell Road [Tram]: A tram for Hucknall pauses at the Chilwell Road halt on a quiet Sunday night. This is definitely the only rail picture I have ever taken while waiting for a pizza to be cooked.
Loch Leven: The building on the up platform at the former Loch Leven station, undergoing refurbishment in October 2007. Opened in 1860 as Kinross, this was the third station to carry that name before the change to Loch Leven in 1871. Closure to passengers took place in September 1921, at which time train services were centred on Kinross Junction, a mile to the north west, just beyond the meeting point with the Devon Valley line from Alloa (see image [[20700]]). Off to the left across the overgrown trackbed a similar building (also undergoing refurbishment) stands on the down platform (see [[17064]]). The line closed completely in 1970.
Quintinshill Loops: A Manchester Airport to Edinburgh TPE Class 397 passes Quintinshill on the afternoon of 12 September 2020.
Wormit: Construction at Wormit, 1996. A new station perhaps? No. Houses. The platform of the former station can be seen to the right.
Book: The front cover of a complete unused operating manual I hold for the British Rail Class 25 Type 2 diesel locos, one of two possibly given out on a visit to Derby Works. The other covers the Class 45 Type 4 'Peak' diesel locos.
Thurso: Ex-CR Class 3P 4-4-0 54482 at Thurso in March 1961.
Balshaw Lane Junction: Its that time of year again. Network Rail MPV DR 98901, out on RHTT duties water jetting around the north west, approaches Balshaw Lane Junction on 21 September 2020.
Livingston South: Livingston South, pictured from the southeast, on 9 September 2020. The station was completely rebuilt a couple of years ago and has come on a bit from the creosote-smelling wooden halt I visited on opening day. It still only gets about a quarter of the custom of Livingston North with its more populous catchment area and better service.
Long Preston: GBRF 66730 approaches Long Preston with empty wagons heading to Arcow Quarry from Hunslet on 8 September 2020.
