Port Elphinstone: Having used the short loop on the reversing spur to the north at Port Elphinstone 47355 uses the headshunt to the south to enter the paper works with a train which came from Aberdeen via Inverurie. 47355 is still in existence, but stored as a source of spares at Carnforth.
Edinburgh Waverley: The guards van of a Class 117 DMU seen at Waverley in June 1997. With parcels gone, guards vans were really a waste of seating space by then. It is hard to believe such antiquated fittings could still be seen into the 21st century.
Holywell Halt: Former Ilkley to Skipton line trackbed viewed, looking towards Bolton Abbey, from the A59 Skipton to Harrogate road shortly after what is now the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway took possession. It was looking in a sorry, waterlogged and boggy, condition in the mid 1980s. Holywell Halt, sited a short distance towards Embsay on the opposite side of the road, was opened in 1987 as the extremity of operations that now stretch through to the replica Bolton Abbey station. See image [[75819]] for a 1991 view from the same location.
Shettleston PW Depot: 67012 waits in the Shettleston loop, on the tail of the Railhead Treatment Train, in November 2020. 67020 is at the head.
Dalgety Bay: 37423 climbs away from a damp Dalgety Bay with a Motherwell TMD - Dundee and return working (presumably a route learner) on 27 January 2021. Photo ancillary to a permitted exercise walk under Corona Virus legislation.
Udny: Interior of the permanent way hut on the Formartine and Buchan Way, just over a mile south of Udny, as seen on 21st January 2021, over forty years after final closure of the line. There is still a substantial fireplace inside and a sleeper floor. The overall condition is surprisingly good.
Glasgow Central: The 17.03 from Gourock, on 28th April 1967, was the final scheduled steam run on the Gourock – Glasgow route, and Polmadie turned out Fairburn 2-6-4T 42274 to do the honours. The train is seen after arrival at Glasgow Central.
Stirling: Stirling station's glazed roofs seen from above. View from the east.
Portsmouth (Lancashire): A Blackpool to York service drifts down from Copy Pit to Hall Royd Junction as it passes the site of Portsmouth station in August 2017.
