Kenyon Junction: Kenyon Junction had four platforms and occupied a large site but it closed in 1961 and little remains. This February 2021 view shows part of the station site looking along the curving trackbed of the line from Leigh. The platforms and buildings, which would have been beyond the parked car, have all been cleared. The loop through Leigh to Patricroft finally closed in 1969.

Moreton-in-Marsh: This terribly modern smoked glass waiting room on the up platform at Moreton-in-Marsh should have a sign on the inside of the doors saying please set your watches back 50 years. I am not entirely kidding - when I took this picture, there was a light green 1963 Wolseley 1500 parked about 200 yards from this spot.

Almondbank: The old station house at Almondbank, 3 miles north west of Perth alongside the A85, photographed in the summer of 2007 looking south. The line passed through the former station on the lower level, with both line and platform running beneath the road . The steep approach to the station from the south side of the A85 is just off to the right (see [[15846]]).

Paisley St James: Fairburn 2-6-4T no 42259 approaching Paisley St James on 16 May 1964 with a Glasgow - Wemyss Bay service. The [[Underwood Coal Depot]] is to the left, which had a long siding to the [[Abercorn Oil Works]].

Kirklee Junction: Kirklee Junction was located just north of [[Kirklee]] station. This view looks north, with the station behind me, in 1988. The bridge carried Kirklee Road over the junction. To the left was the line round to [[Bellshaugh Junction]] and on to [[Dawsholm]] or further afield to [[Dumbarton Central]] or [[Glasgow Central]]. To the right was the route to [[Maryhill Central Junction]] and on to [[Possil]] or beyond to Balornock and a choice of routes. The photograph was taken with an old Praktica with a 50mm lens whose focus ring had jumped the thread on one side, in case you were wondering about the focus!

Holbeck Shed: LMS Crewe built Patriot 4-6-0 45507 'Royal Tank Corps' seen on 55A Leeds Holbeck shed in May 1962, a few months before being withdrawn in October of that year. The loco had been a long term Carlisle Upperby loco, but had been transferred to Lancaster Green Ayre shed to see out the last couple of years of active operation.

Waterside Level Crossing: In July 1996 it was obviously some time since road traffic had been held up at Waterside level crossing in Causewayhead, Stirling. Happily though the usual fate was avoided; the Alloa line reopened to passengers in 2008. It has since been electrified. See image [[70227]].

Edgware Road: Three grubby LUL C stock trains (now withdrawn) at Edgware Road on 10th January 2013, the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Metropolitan Railway although the present station here is a rebuild dating from 1925. On the outsides are two Circle Line trains and in the middle a District Line train to Wimbledon.
