Greenock Princes Pier [2nd]: Stanier 2-6-4T no 42240 waits with a train alongside platform 1 at Princes Pier, Greenock, on Saturday 2 August 1958.
Millerhill Junction: Millerhill has been a location of long slow decline but in May 1995 there was still something to see. The abandoned ECML electrification depot ahead marks the course of the Waverley route, swinging to the right was the remains of the Bilston Glen branch, acting as headshunt to the Monktonhall colliery line right.
Stroud Green: Class 760 unit on a London Overground Gospel Oak to Barking service heading away from the camera, seen from the old Stroud Green viaduct on the former GNR Northern Heights line, on 1st April 2021. The LO passes underneath the viaduct in a short tunnel; in the days when the GNR line was still open there were never any interchange facilities here. The Barking line calls at Crouch Hill about a quarter of a mile away behind the camera.
Inverkeithing East Junction: Locomotive Services Ltd 47593 takes the Central - East chord at Inverkeithing on its way from Joppa Straight to Aberdeen on 30 March 2021.
Capernwray Viaduct: During the Covid timetable trains on the Bentham line have been reduced. They also only shuttle between Lancaster/Morecambe and Skipton and do not run through to Leeds. 158907 was heading for Skipton on 3rd April 2021, seen here from the Lancaster Canal towpath crossing the River Keer on the picturesque Capernwray Viaduct.
Weymouth: The track of the Weymouth Quay line, now sadly lifted or filled in, looking south near Weymouth station in 2018.
Aviemore Speyside: A view south of Aviemore Speyside in August 1992. The photo was taken from the rear cab of Class 27 no. D5394 which was returning light engine to Boat of Garten having dropped off the Royal Scotsman.
Leyburn: Platform view looking west at Leyburn in the summer of 2011 with the former goods shed nearest the camera. The line into the shed has long been lifted, with the arch blocked and trackbed levelling work carried out. At the time of the photograph the old building housed a tyre and exhaust service. Off to the left part of the goods yard is now used for parking, with the area once housing cattle pens taken over by a building supply company. The old coal drops are still partially preserved. For a photograph showing the position just before Leyburn closed to goods traffic see image [[19458]].
Greenock Princes Pier [2nd]: Fairburn 2-6-4T no 42245 preparing to leave Princes Pier on Saturday 8 November 1958 with the empty stock of the Empress Voyager.
Haymarket MPD: Two ScotRail HST power cars stand at the east end of Haymarket Depot on 29 March 2021. A 4-car 158 pretends to be the carriages of the one on the left, while the one on the right (with the beard net) has a 170 right behind it. Space must be short.
