Alyth Junction: A full-height lattice signal post with no arm, but a ladder through the birch trees that have now engulfed this spot on the main line near Alyth Junction where the Newtyle line crossed over. See image [[74418]] from 1996. There were also some large intact telegraph poles on site seen during this interesting June 2021 visit.

Kirkby: Looking at the buffer stops on the Merseyrail side of Glovers Brow road bridge, Kirkby as a Northern service to Manchester departs from the platform on the other side. The walkway between the two platforms juts out into the formation and, following the incident on 13 March 2021 when 507006 crashed through the buffers, has been completely rebuilt and the buffer stop replaced

Millerhill: I think there may be some of the original Millerhill station building under there, but it's a bit of a ship of Theseus. The Borders Railway makes its own way south a few hundred yards to the west of here, leaving this fragment of the Waverley Route well on the way to oblivion.

Liverpool Street: Liverpool Street, partially opened by the GER in 1875 and fully in 1876, and rebuilt in the mid-1980s, seen on 29th May 2021. After a big drop in passenger numbers since March 2020 due to covid, from the look of things people seem to be getting the hang of travelling by train again, even though restrictions had only been partially eased at this date.
