Rosyth: A Cowdenbeath service calls at Rosyth on 16 June 2021. The station is some way from the town centre; in fact as can be seen it is right on the edge of town. When the railway was built there was no station as Rosyth was nothing but a castle on a tidal island in the Forth. It was later chosen as the site of a Royal Dockyard.
Barking: 710 London Overground unit just arrived at Barking with a service from Gospel Oak on 24th June 2021. London Overground services are to be extended from here to Barking Riverside, which is currently under construction. When open, trains will need to cross the Barking Flyover to get to the Riverside line and will no longer serve this bay platform, dating from the station's reconstruction between 1959 and 1962.
Aberfeldy Distillery: June 2008 view of Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST of 1939, works number 2073, sat on a length of track in the Dewars Distillery complex at Aberfeldy, attached to a flat wagon loaded with Whisky barrels.
Craigentinny Depot: CrossCountry 220013 and 220033 snake their way into Craigentinny T&RSMD having arrived in Edinburgh with the 06.34 from Bristol Temple Meads on 18th June 2021.
Westerton: 334033 passes Westerton non-stop with a service to Helensburgh on 7 September 2019. While Helensburgh services normally run via Yoker, on this Saturday they were being sent via Singer.
Roslin: The Branch Line Society railtour of 16th October 1965 included a visit to Roslin, where GNSR No.49 'Gordon Highlander' was pictured running round the train. The railtour was the final outing for the 4-4-0 before retirement to museum life.
Irwell Vale: The ELR summer 2021 diesel gala had no visiting locos but the home fleet is huge so there was plenty of variety over the three days. 25279 has recently been repainted in BR Blue, seen here double heading a service out of Irwell Vale with D5054. It was really good to hear the distinctive sound of a pair of Sulzer Type 2s working a train.
Slateford Yard: Grab shot of Inter7City extra carriages and spares stabled in Slateford sidings on 26th June 2021.
Glen Douglas Halt: The southbound sleeper climbs by Loch Long on the 27th of June. This Sunday evening service was the closest (due to strike action) to the longest day, the idea being to photograph the train on the day with the most light this late in the evening. There was rather a good sunset.
Tom-na-Faire Depot: Black 5 4-6-0 45407 passing Tom na Faire depot, Fort William, with the morning Jacobite service to Mallaig on 30th June 2021.
Larkhall: An idle 2 x 3 car emu at Larkhall during one of the June Sunday strike days. Rear 3-car is 320312 and leading is 318262, which will form the first service on Monday, from Larkhall to Dalmuir.
