Farringdon [EL]: Subway from platforms to foot of escalator at Farringdon station, Elizabeth Line at 14.38 on Saturday, 30th November 2024. The escalators seem to go on forever, but eventually take you onto the Thameslink and London Underground platforms as well the exit.

Stobs: Looking towards Hawick on the last day of passenger services at Stobs, 4th January 1969. Having arrived here by train from Riccarton, myself and a friend then continued our journey on foot to Hawick.

Swindon Works: A cold day walking around the works at Swindon in 1984. 40176, 40154 and 40083 all await the scrap man, a sad sight for people like me who liked the 40s.

Middleton Junction: Looking south along Joshua Lane at Middleton Junction on a murky 27th December 2024. The large brick abutment once supported a steel bridge that carried the Middleton branch over the road until 1965. Beyond the bridge the wall encloses Greengate Brewery, established by J. W. Lees on this site in 1828 and still brewing today as it approaches its bi-centenary.

St Fillans: An overview from the north east of the site of St Fillans station taken the footpath to the north reveals that a platform store, main station building, eastbound platform waiting room and signalbox remain standing.

Ramsgreave and Wilpshire: 6Z32 11:24 Colas Ribble Rail - Eastriggs MOD, moving the tankers formerly used on the Haverton Hill/Lindsay to Colas Ribble Rail Preston working. The first rake of empty bitumen tanks going into storage at the former MOD site, just over the border into Scotland, seen near Wilpshire summit on the Blackburn - Hellifield line behind 56 049 'Robin of Templecombe'. The second and last rake will follow in February. This traffic will now come over the Pennines in road tankers and the line from Blackburn to Todmorden has no regular freight traffic.
