Ardeer Factory Signal Box (-1922)Opened on the Ardeer (Misk) Branch (Glasgow and South Western Railway).
Description
This signal box was within the Nobel Explosives works at Ardeer, the box was located at the exchange yard with the works to the east of Ardeer Platform. In addition to standard gauge lines the works had a substantial narrow gauge system. The Ardeer Power Station, for the works, was close to the yard.
The box closed in 1922. The nearby Misk Signal Box, to the north west, remained open.
The line ceased to be used in the late 1980s.
