This siding was a loading point on the Forth and Clyde Junction Railway and Auchencarroch Quarry (to the south). A looped siding was on the south side of the line, approached from the east.
The looped siding crossed over the Carrochan Burn to reach a series of buildings (rock crusher?).
Later a tramway running south east connected the siding to the Auchencarroch Quarry (Nairn's Quarry, some 500 ft above).
The site of the siding can still be discerned.
