This was the northern terminus of the Strabathie Light Railway. It was a goods depot on opening in 1899 for the Strabathie Brick Works (also known as Blackdog) of the Seaton Brick and Tile Company. After 1900 the line carried a passenger service.
Bricks were carried south to Bridge of Don for city use.
After the works closed in 1924 the line was purchased by the Murcar Golf Course, thus the alternative name of the Murcar Railway, and the southern portion retained. North of Berryhill (Murcar Golf Club) (excluded) to Blackdog closed.
