This was the western end of a west to east curve, connecting to Bonnington East Junction, which allowed through running from North Leith to Granton.
The curve was out of use except for access to Chancelot Mill [1st] by 1895, the connection being severed at Bonnington North. Access to the mills was via Bonnington East Junction with a reversal just short of the former Bonnington North Junction. The box closed in 1926.
