This was a lime kiln to the west of Mortonhall Pit.
The line works had its own mine and a short internal tramway.
The nearby pit was rail served by a siding from the lines serving the Straiton Oil Works and Pentland Oil Works.
The kiln still exists, but housing developments are reaching ever closer.
