Cairngryffe QuarryServed by the Cairngryffe Quarry Tramway.
Description
Also known as Cairngryfe Quarry or Cloburn Quarry. This was operated by Lanarkshire County Council's Road Department. A 2 ft tramway ran north west to Grange Siding (alongside Pettinain Signal Box). The Quarry had its own locomotives, one by Dempster, Moore & Co.
The tramway was closed in 1960.
The quarry is still open, operated by the Cloburn Quarry Company .
