This former large paper mill on the south bank of the River Carron expanded east (absorbing the Herbertshire Mill) and west on the north side of the B818. It was served by Stoneywood Goods to the east (from 1860), across the road. The railway approached the mill from Denny to the east. The branch was extended to sweep south of the goods yard over a level crossing to run through the works. This was carried out around 1890 and the sidings were generously laid out and served the 'Grass Shed' at the east end of the site and continued to the west to the coal siding and chlorine tank siding.
The railway into the works closed in 1971. The works itself closed in 2005.
Carronglen House, which became surrounded by works buildings, survives. The site of the works has been cleared and is being redeveloped as housing.
To the east was Herbertshire Colliery Pit No 2.
