This is a six platform station to the north west of the city. It is the principal station in the town being served by trains from London Paddington (by the former Great Western Railway) and London Waterloo (by the former London and South Western Railway). The main line continues west to Plymouth and Penzance. There are branches to Barnstaple and Exmouth.
